For an extended scope (ITOM, ITAM, CSM in addition), plan twelve to eighteen months with a team of eight to ten people.
Underestimating change management and user training. Without support, N1/N2 technicians bypass ServiceNow and revert to Excel or email.

Standard-first rule: every business need is first confronted with standard ServiceNow configuration. Custom is the exception, justified and documented. All custom scripts and flows are versioned (Application File Service, Update Sets), maintainable, and tested.
